E-Jobs - Can you show what you know?

I was recently asked by a prospective student about the job market for online teachers and Instructional designers.

At UW-Stout Online Professional Development, our students seek to enhance their current careers or prepare for a new career by developing marketable skills in online teaching, training, or instructional design.

Many of our students are veteran teachers seeking a new way to use hard won experience.  We also have nurse educators, corporate trainers, content creators, instructional technologists, and project managers earning these Graduate Certificates.

Are you thinking about it?  If so, I HAVE to ask

Can you show what you know?

  • Do you have an E-Portfolio?
  • Have you taught or written online courses?
  • Do you have graduate certificates or degrees to prove academic subject matter expertise?
  • Have you adapted a traditional curriculum to online delivery formats?
  • Have you worked in a blended teaching environment?
  • Do you have micro-credentials or work experience using an LMS, or advanced instructional design software?
We can help you answer yes to these questions.

So much depends on your subject matter expertise, technical skills, teaching experience, and entrepreneurial drive.

Our E-Learning and Online Teaching Certificate and our Instructional Design Certificate are jobs oriented.  We help you know more and show more in the competitive market place.

Both programs provide hands-on experience and flexible projects that apply to your current working situations.

Both programs help you create a professional portfolio.

Jobs Resources we provide for our students:

  • Our LinkedIn group of more than 1000 online teachers and instructional designers is active. All students are encouraged to join. I regularly post job leads to the group.
  • All registered students get a professional subscription to LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com).
  • The network of peers you develop when you go through our program is the foundation for a personal learning and working network. The people you go to school can become an important personal learning network.
  • Finally, our career center sites help you understand the dynamic employment situation for those trained to work at a distance.

These sites are open to all:
